Kate Northrop: Lyricist,
Songwriter
Kate Northrop is an American songwriter based
in Europe who works primarily as a lyricist with many
talented artists, composers and producers.
She has written lyrics for over a hundred songs and her
credits include lyrics for a song in the
soundtrack of an award-winning German film, the title track
(lyrics & music) of the 2011 CD of Dodo Hug,
one of Switzerland's gold & platinum artists; songs for
upcoming artists and finalists of national
talent competitions; and many more.
She was born in Connecticut (USA) and studied
music and English literature at Bennington College in
Vermont and at the University College of
Wales (UK) until she decided to try out life as a travelling
musician (on tour with English songwriter
Gavin James). She toured for several years in Europe and
the USA, which enriched both her life and her
songwriting skills. Her first CD, "Roots and Wings"
(Brambus Records) recorded together with
multi-instrumentalist Sandro Friedrich, was released in
1992, followed by a tour of clubs and
festivals in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Kate has lived
in
Switzerland since 1994. She is
currently a member of the Swiss indie-rock band MoonSnake.
Sandro Friedrich: Recording
Sandro Friedrich is responsible for recording the SongWave demos
which he produces in his own
recording-studio. He is gifted as both technician and
studio-musician (ethnic wind-instruments) which
he presents in his own website,
